Rajkiya Engineering College, Basti, was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2023 with the objective of providing quality technical education and fostering innovation, research, and professional excellence in the region. In recognition of the enduring contributions and ideals of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the institution was renamed as Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Rajkiya Engineering College Basti in the year 2025. The college is offering B.Tech. programmes in four disciplines; Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Civil Engineering (CE), and Electronics Engineering (EC), with an intake of 60 seats in each branch from the academic session 2023–24.
